Captain Gary Clifford

Originally from Aylesbury UK, Captain Gary started coarse fishing at age 6 and graduated to carp fishing (best 22lb) and then barbel fishing (best 12lb15oz). Whilst working in London he met his Grenadian born wife (Rolda) and that led to their move to Grenada in 1996.

By chance Gary became Cliff Wardally’s next door neighbor. Naturally Gary ended up fishing with Cliff on “Yes Aye” for a year after which the opportunity came to purchase the boat when Cliff moved to Miami in 1997.

True Blue Sportfishing was started in 1998 and has since become the leading charter boat on the island.

First mate Albian Modeste has only just entered the sport but he grew up in a fishing village so has the right background and is learning fast.

Billfish Foundation

Capt. Gary is strongly in favour of billfish conservation - we tag and release all billfish and often return other species as well. Gary is a member of both and The International Gamefish Association and The Billfish Foundation
